About Imerman Angels and Bijan’s Bistro

Imerman Angels was created on the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone. At 26 years old, Jonny Imerman (now a two-time cancer survivor) was diagnosed with testicular cancer and began his fight against the disease. Throughout his experience, Jonny was fortunate enough to have support from his family and friends, but had never met anyone his age who was a cancer survivor. He wanted to talk to someone who had already faced the same type of cancer. This was the beginning of Jonny’s vision and in 2006, it became a reality when he founded Imerman Angels. Through its unique matching process, Imerman Angels supports both cancer fighters and caregivers. It pairs anyone facing any type of cancer at the same age and stage anywhere in the world.“Support Seekers” are matched with someone just like them – a “Mentor Angel”–giving cancer fighters and caregivers the chance to ask personal questions and get support from someone who has been there. Headquatered in Chicago, Imerman Angels provides support in 91 countries and all 50 states.

Celebrating 35 years in River North, Bijans Bistro is known for its bustling dining room and friendly bar. The neighborhood establishment has been serving regulars, revelers, out-of-towners, celebrities and culinary industry insiders since 1983. The restaurant’s founder, Fred Chamanari, had an eclectic vision that sprang to life during years of formative change for the River North neighborhood. His restaurant attracted nearby residents, professionals and cultural aficionados, and eventually blossomed into an iconic late-night dining scene where hospitality professionals gather after their own establishments close. The menu features everything from classic brunch fare to escargot and French onion soup to signature comfort food dishes like meatloaf and herb crusted chicken. Guests will also enjoy the restaurant’s great vibe, great service and great liquor, beer and wine selection. The venue also offers carry out and delivery service.
